Dear parishioners,
These past two weeks many of you went to pay homage to Sts. Anne and Joachim at Port Klang and Bukit Mertajam. As some were leaving by bus from our Church grounds, I told a few of them to convey regards from the son-in-law. “Are you referring to yourself as the son-in-law, Father?” many asked me. They failed to see that it’s St Joseph who is the son-in-law of Sts Joachim and Mary. Anyway, I hope that all your prayers have been answered and if not yet, that they will be answered soon.
We, the maintenance group have decided to proceed with phase two of the renovation works on St Joseph’s Community Hall. For this we need to set-up a Renovation Committee and a Fund Raising Committee. I hope that many of you will come forward to volunteer your services in helping to make this project a success. For a start, the youth have volunteered carry out the sale of fruitcakes, candles and chocolates from next week onwards. Please do support this project and all the other projects that we will be carrying out to raise funds for the renovation of St Joseph’s Hall.
If there is anyone among you who has some expertise in building construction please do see me as soon as possible for a brain storming session for the proposed renovation project.
You have contributed your time, effort, finances and energy to uplift the face of the St. Joseph’s Church since last year. I am looking forward to your cooperation once again as we commence work soon on the maintenance, painting and refurbishment works at our community hall.
If everything goes well, we hope to begin the renovation works in October or November, 2014. Do pray for the success of this project.
