Last Saturday (May 23), after sunset mass on the solemnity of Pentecost, the St Joseph’s Catholic community spent the whole night in prayer and adoration in preparation for Pentecost which was held in the Community Hall. The faithful who came, about 200 parishioners, were rewarded with the rich experience of the gentle but powerful inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
We began the vigil at 8 pm (Saturday) and ended with the Eucharistic celebration at 5.15 am (Sunday). The Charismatic groups (Tamil and English) each took turns to do the praise and worship for an hour, followed by silent adoration till early morning.
It was a wonderful vigil celebration. The faithful who spent their time in prayer and worship in front of the Blessed Sacrament emerged from that memorable encounter, richly blessed with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
