Pope Francis had designated the thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary time as the World Day of the Poor. Our parish of St Joseph celebrated it on Sunday, 19th November 2017 with the theme given by the Holy Father, “Let us love, not with words but with deeds.” On this day we too celebrated our Parish Family Day. Among the activities organised were:

- Jumble sale: Items like clothes, toys, story books, electrical goods, household products, etc, were sold with prices ranging from RM0.20 to RM49.90.
- Raffle Draw: More than 100 winning prizes were given away, such as laptop, TV, handphones, washing machine, etc.
- Food and Drinks: On sales.
- Games and Funfair: Booths were set up by the BECs.
- Live Bands: Performed by Jason & Clifford, Myanmar Band, Jeremy & Gerard, Wild Roses, The Small Stones and FT Greg Williams.
The day started with a multi-lingual Mass (English. Tamil, Myanmar) at 8.30 am. The event was commenced at 10.30 am and ended at 5.00 pm. We were also honoured by the presence of the Archbishop Julian Leow.
