Faith and Accessibility forum was organised by WHEELS Ministry and Rev. Fr. Gregory Chan, Parish Priest of Assumption Church, Petaling Jaya. This forum was held at the Assumption Family House from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm on Saturday, 11 May 2019. Eagle’s Wing Ministry (EWM) members were invited to attend. Rev. Fr. Gregory was the first speaker, followed by Reena Josefa from EWM of St. Joseph’s Church, Mr. Anthony Arokia (Consultant/Trainer for Differently Abled, Air Asia) and Y.B. Senator Bathmavathi Krishna (Ahli Dewan Negara, Malaysia) from Alor Setar.
The highlight of this forum was to create awareness on the importance of accessibility in the Church and its surrounding areas for the differently abed and the elderly. The importance of faith community in their lives based on bible text. Personal testimonies on how one who able to walk and later confined to a wheel chair due to accident and illness can overcome all odds, hurdles and obstacles in life, can still pursue their dreams and at the same time reach out to help others in the same situation. It was indeed a fruitful and uplifting forum.
EWM thanks WHEELS and Rev. Fr. Gregory Chan for giving us the opportunity to participate in this forum.
