“REBOOSTING : INSPIRING THE BUDS”
Educare St. Joseph’s organized a half day workshop between 9 a.m to 12.30 p.m on March 25th, 2017 themed “Reboosting: Inspiring the Buds”. Conducted by Ms. Antoinette Gerardine Maria Raj who’s attached to the Education Ministry of Malaysia.
The workshop’s objective was to reinvigorate our St. Joseph’s volunteer teachers who were based in the educational ministries such as The Educare and The Catechetical Ministry. The workshop was also extended to all interested individuals in the fields of children’s education. This particular workshop emphasized on the education of children in “Primary School Level”. And was directed towards individuals who are keen on enhancing and escalating children’s learning potency being as an Educator or Parent.
There were 19 participants who partook in the workshop. It was an enthralling workshop where the Speaker, Ms. Gerardine Raj initially touched on the “KSSR” system: “Primary Level Government Education Curriculum” and it’s dogmas. The Workshop incorporated invigorating exercises. We were guided through an exploration of Language Art, the Fun Way to learning and through the vast fields of learning resources concepts of the 21st Century Learning Scheme initiated by the Malaysian Government. The participants were allowed to traverse into an interactive knowledge quiz site called “Kahoot” for adults and children alike to interact in unison which can be formulated by the educator themselves. It’s a fun quiz where children can be concurrently be educated. In closing Ms. Gerardine pointed out how “appreciation” played a crucial role in a child’s educational life.
The workshop was concluded with a hand-made thank you flower pot card that was created by our Educare Teacher Assunta and an “Appreciation Certificate” and “Love Offering” being presented to the speaker Ms. Gerardine Raj.
The workshop had been an enlightening and stimulating session. A guide through and eye opener to many of the participants on implementation and accessing facets and resources to educate children unequivocally.
From Ms. Gerardine’s own poignant quote
“Spread a lil luv, Shine a li’l lite, You can be sure; It’ll spice up your life.”
