Confirmands of St. Joseph Church, Sentul ready to Sow the Seed of Goodness
The Confirmation Mass held at St. Joseph Church, Sentul on 23rd July 2023 was a momentous occasion attended by 27 students. The atmosphere was filled with faith and joy as Archbishop Julian Leow led the sacred celebration, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Frederick Joseph. Among the candidates were 19 students from the catechetical ministry, 3 candidates from the Myanmar Zomi Community, and 5 candidates from the RCIA program, adding cultural diversity and a profound sense of belonging to the event.
During his homily, Archbishop Julian emphasized the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation, urging the candidates to be true witnesses of Christ’s love by spreading goodness in the world. With the anointing of sacred chrism oil, each candidate received the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, filling the church with a profound sense of reverence.
The candidates, empowered by the sacrament, left the Mass with inner peace and newfound strength, ready to live as disciples of Christ. The celebration concluded with Fr. Frederick’s thanksgiving note, and the parishioners felt a stronger bond between the candidates, their families, and the parish.
Inspired by the spirit of confirmation, the congregation left with a renewed commitment to live their faith daily and be beacons of hope and love in the world. The event marked a significant milestone in the candidates’ spiritual journey and their dedication to serving others with the guidance of their newfound faith.
Prior to the Confirmation mass, these students were prepared for this holy sacrament with a Confirmation camp that was held at Infant Jesus Centre Port Dickson, from July 7th to 9th. 19 students were hosted and facilitated by our vibrant formators Mr. Richard Ganesh, Mr.Gabriel Moses, Mr.Tomson Scaria , Mrs.Angeline and Dr. Sheila Jeremy as well with the assistance of Parish Youth Representatives, Mr.Teren Anthony and Mr.Andronicus, who instilled God’s spirit in the event. Energetic youths kept spirits high with worship and games. The camp’s theme, “You are salt and light of the world,” encompassed topics like family, church, society, relationships, self-reflection, and Jesus’ teachings. A special session, “Recognizing Talent in Others,” spread positivity through notes of appreciation placed in envelopes for students. Confirmands committed to contribute to the church after their sacrament journey, presented during the camp mass to the Parish Priest Fr. Frederick Joseph. A powerful moment of inner healing led by Fr Frederick encouraged forgiveness, emotional healing, and spiritual growth, touching students profoundly.
