Celebrating the Feast of St. Joseph spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary
– A Joyous Occasion of Faith and Fellowship
St. Joseph Church Sentul, celebrated the feast on March 20th, 2023. The occasion was marked with a solemn Mass celebrated by Most. Rev. Dr. Bishop Anthony Peter Abir, from India along with concelebrants Fr. Frederick Joseph, Msgr. James Ghanapragasam, Fr. Lawrence Andrew, and Fr. Mitchel Anthony People came in large numbers to celebrate the feast.
St. Joseph, the husband of Mary and the earthly father of Jesus, is venerated as the patron saint of workers, fathers, and families. He is also recognized as the patron saint of the Universal Church. The feast of St. Joseph is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in many parts of the world, and the celebration at St. Joseph Church Sentul was no exception.
The Mass which was Bi-lingual was celebrated with beautiful blend of traditional hymns, prayers, and readings. Bishop Peter Abir delivered a homily, highlighting the virtues of St. Joseph and his unwavering faith in God. He encouraged the congregation to emulate St. Joseph’s humility, courage, and obedience to God’s will, and to live a life of service to others.
After the mass, the congregation continued the celebration with a fellowship, potluck style. The parishioners brought some sumptuous food which was shared by all. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy as people mingled, shared stories, and enjoyed the delicious food.
