DISCERNMENT FORMATION FOR YOUNG STUDENTS ON CHURCH MISSIONS
On May 7th, 2017 between 8.30 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. The Tamil Catechists from St. Joseph’s Church, Sentul organized a formation themed “CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME” in SJC Formation House. In attendance were sixteen Year 5 till Form 3, Tamil speaking catechism students. Facilitators from Church of The Visitation, Seremban were specifically invited to conduct the above formation.
The Formation’s main inclination was to disseminate awareness on the four commitments. The first session “DEEPENING OUR PRAYER LIFE” was lead by Mrs Agnes Francis. She emphasized the predominance of prayer along with Rosary recitation in our daily lives. The subsequent session on “BEING DEEPLY ROOTED IN THE WORD OF GOD” was steered on by Mrs Lily James. She accentuated the incorporation of meditation on The Word of God in our daily routines. Summing-up on the latter topics of the Missions “EXPERIENCING THE SACRAMENTS AS A TOUCH OF GOD” & “COMMITTING OURSELVES TO NEW EVANGELISATION”. Miss Caroline exalted that by us utilizing of The Divine Sacraments sequentially we will be ushering in God as our life’s curator. She also urged the wielding of “Christ’s Love” to augment our roles in evangelization. Rev. Fr. George Packiasamy’s counsel was pivotal in completing this formation. Fr. George even generously advocated to the participating students the effects of short daily prayers and even the impacts of reciting of a decade of The Rosary. Fr. George also en-kindled in them to inscribe bible verses that touches their heart’s into a book.
The Formation has succored our students to engage in prayer and to meditate upon The Bible throughout their lives. It has also intrigued them as a recourse with a new dawning to serve and participate in the Church. The program was fruitfully beneficial and instrumentally valuable.
