On 12 July 2026, the Catechetical Ministry joyfully participated in the Perjalanan Salib 2025–2026, joining the Church in Malaysia’s spiritual journey of preparation for the Malaysia Pastoral Convention (MPC) 2026, which will be held in Sibu, Sarawak, in September 2026. More than a pilgrimage of the Cross, Perjalanan Salib is a call for the faithful to journey together in the spirit of synodality through prayer, communion, participation, and mission.

The 30-minute session began with a video presentation introducing the significance of the Perjalanan Salib and its role in preparing hearts for the upcoming Pastoral Convention. Mr Nelson shared with the students the purpose of the pilgrimage, the journey of the Cross throughout the dioceses of Malaysia, and its final destination at the Malaysia Pastoral Convention in Sibu. He also highlighted the four key themes that guide this journey — Family, Church, Society, and Ecology — reminding students of their responsibility to live out their faith within these important dimensions of Christian life.

The spiritual reflection continued with the Form 4 students leading the assembly in prayer and reflection, including the Prayer to St Helena, the patron saint associated with the discovery of the True Cross and the guiding saint for this pilgrimage journey. The session concluded with an intercessory prayer, followed by a symbolic activity where students placed their names within the image of the Cross, signifying their commitment to walk with Christ and with one another as members of the Church, journeying together towards MPC 2026 as witnesses of hope, faith, and unity.
