On 17th November 2024, St. Joseph’s Church, Sentul came alive with joy and gratitude as over 100 students were recognised at the Catechetical Awards Ceremony 2024 for their dedication and commitment to completing the catechetical year.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Reverend Father Frederick Joseph, Monsignor James Gnanapiragasam, PPC Chairperson Dr. Sheela Theivanthirah, Mr. Augustine Selvam, Mr. Aloysius Anthonysamy, Mr. Michael Raj, Mr. John Bosco, Mr. Richard Ganesh, Ms. Mary Daniel and Mr. Gabriel Moses. Their presence added great significance to this momentous occasion.

The celebration began with a grand entrance of the priests, which was met with cheers and excitement from the audience. The day featured mesmerising performances, including enchanting numbers by Standard 1 and 2 students, whose innocence and enthusiasm captivated everyone. Talented individuals like Bastian, Shasha, and Abigail brought the audience to tears with heartfelt renditions of “Mary Did You Know”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Oceans”. The finale, “10,000 Reasons”, performed by Nayden, Nadine, Maryssa, and Ireena with ukulele accompaniment, left the hall resounding with praise.

The event also featured a milestone video, chronicling the Catechetical Ministry’s journey in 2024. From impactful outreach programmes and Marian activities to camps and World Children’s Day celebrations, these events have undoubtedly nurtured the students’ faith and love for the Church.
The Catechetical Ministry Coordinator Nelson Dass delivered an inspiring message, urging everyone to look forward to the Jubilee Year 2025, themed Pilgrims of Hope. The symbolic design of the Jubilee Year T-shirts, unveiled during the event, added to the anticipation for the upcoming celebrations.

A heartfelt vote of thanks goes to Abigail and Nazarene, who hosted the event with charm and energy, ensuring the day was as lively as it was memorable. As Philippians 1:3 reminds us, “I thank my God every time I remember you,” this sentiment resonates deeply with the Catechetical Ministry as they honour the students, teachers, and parents who made the year a resounding success.

Congratulations to all for wrapping up the catechetical year with faith, passion, and a celebration to remember!
