LET US CONTEMPLATE THE QUALITIES OF ST. JOSEPH

1. A MODEL FOR MANHOOD, FOR HUSBANDS AND FATHERS
   (Qualities: Strong, silent, responsible, his action louder than words, obedient to God and faithful to wife).
2. A MODEL FOR WORKERS: VOCATION ABOVE CAREER
   (Qualities: Sensibility in choosing to safeguard safety and sanctity of family above business and career. Patron Saint for the jobless, for workers, for professional challenges).
3. A MODEL FOR GUARDIANS OF FAMILIES
   (Qualities: Protective instinct. Today families are threatened to be fragmented in many ways; St Joseph is a vigilant and a man of discernment and action).
4. ST. JOSEPH, GUARDIAN AND PATRON OF UNIVERSAL CHURCH
   (The earliest “Church” was firstly Jesus, Mary and Joseph. In caring for them he is providing for and caring for the Universal Church which is us, the members of the Mystical Body of Christ).
5. ST. JOSEPH, MODEL OF GOOD AND HOLY LIVES
   All over the world there are people who live good, sacrificial and holy lives, hidden from other people but known to God. St. Joseph is a model for such lives.
6. ST. JOSEPH, MODEL OF THE QUIET AND CONTEMPLATIVE LIFE
   So many questions must have been pondered upon by St. Joseph, yet he did not turn away and given in to doubt and despair, but trusted in what God asked him to be and to do.
7. St. JOSEPH, PATRON OF A HOLY AND HAPPY DEATH
   We do not know where on when Joseph died but we can be sure Joseph died in the arms of Jesus and Mary.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul;
Jesus, May and Joseph, make my heart like unto yours;
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, assist me in my last agony;
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I breathe forth my soul unto Thee;
O Sacrament most holy, O sacrament divine;
All praise and all thanksgiving, be every moment Thine; Amen.
