The parish community of St. Joseph, Sentul, together with family, friends, and well-wishers, rejoiced in thanksgiving as we celebrated the 25th Sacerdotal Anniversary of our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Frederick Joseph, on 31st August 2025. The joyous occasion was the fruit of a year-long preparation marked by prayer, dedication, and unity.
The celebration began with the solemn Holy Mass at 5.00 pm, with Fr. Frederick as the main celebrant. Joining him were His Excellency Archbishop Emeritus Murphy Pakiam, 38 priests from the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, the Dioceses of Penang and Melaka-Johor, as well as six priests from India. The presence of so many clergy was a powerful sign of fraternity and the bond of priesthood.

Msgr. Stanislaus who delivered the homily reflected on his personal acquaintance with Fr. Frederick and traced his journey to priesthood. He also recalled the ordination theme chosen by Fr. Frederick—King of Kings—and related it to the wisdom of King Solomon, reminding the congregation of the call to serve with humility and faith.

The Mass was enriched by a vibrant multilingual liturgy, coordinated by the combined choirs of the Church of St. Joseph, the Church of the Risen Christ, and members of the Zomi community. Their harmonious voices lifted the hearts of the faithful in praise and thanksgiving.

After the Eucharistic celebration, the celebration continued at the HGH Convention Centre, Sentul, where more than 900 guests and volunteers gathered for a grand dinner. The evening opened with the youths of St. Joseph and the Risen Christ rendering the hymn You Are a Priest Forever, a fitting tribute to Fr. Frederick’s vocation. Speeches were then delivered by the Organising Chairman, John Bosco Morais and Rev. Fr. Frederick himself, reminiscing about his priestly ministry in the parishes he served.

The night was filled with cultural performances, music, and dance, showcasing the unity and talents of the parish community. Coinciding with Hari Merdeka, the celebration featured performances in different languages, highlighting our rich diversity. Guests were delighted and deeply engaged throughout the celebration, which concluded at 11.00 pm with a spirit of joy and thanksgiving. A commemorative souvenir book was thoughtfully compiled for the Silver Jubilee Celebration, chronicling his remarkable journey and gathering heartfelt voices and blessings from the community.

This Silver Jubilee was more than a personal milestone for Rev. Fr. Frederick Joseph, it was a celebration of the priesthood itself, a tribute to all priests who dedicate their lives in service of God’s people. It was a moment of grace, reminding the faithful of the gift of priesthood in the life of the Church, and of God’s abiding presence through His chosen shepherds.

The Silver Jubilee celebration stands as a testament to faith, unity, and the enduring spirit of the parish community, made possible by the organising committee whose commitment, attention to detail, and tireless efforts made possible to the success of this memorable occasion.
