01 May 2022 marks another history in the calendar of the church of St. Joseph Church, Sentul. Yes indeed, after 2 years, the parishioners plus the Myanmar and Sri Lankan migrants and other foreigners from Philippines, India and Indonesia and our very own brothers and sisters from East Malaysia who came together as one family to celebrate the feast of St. Joseph. Approximately 1300 pilgrims stormed the odds of this current situation to pray with faith and hope for an end to this endemic so that many will have new life filled with peace, love and joy.
On this auspicious day, we also had the privilege to witness the appointment of Fr. Frederick Joseph as the new parish priest by His Grace Julian Leow, Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur. We also had the opportunity to have Monsignor James Gnanapiragasam and Fr. Lawrence Andrew to stand in unity to give courage and strength to Fr. Frederick.
After the celebration of the Eucharist, all parishioners and nationalities from a few countries (Myanmar, India, Philippines, Sri Lanka) joined for a delicious dinner organised by the feast day working committee. We also had many individuals who came forward with a lot of food as thanksgiving for blessings received from God through the intercessory prayers of St. Joseph the Worker. The newly appointed parish priest, Fr. Frederick Joseph took this special moment to thank one and all who made this feast day a meaningful and memorable one for every Catholic and non-Catholic present.
May God continue to shower His blessings of grace and mercy so that all of us will have a spirit-filled journey.
